S.C. Salisbury & J. Starley

Patented in 1861, the design formed the basis of the Coventry made European machine. A second patent quickly followed from this same pair which envisaged a full cotton bobbin to be used for the underthread, thereby allowing greater uninterrupted sewing capacity.
