Newton Wilson

Wilson's 1869 patent encompasses the shuttle drive mechanism he employed in his successful "Princess of Wales" machine.
Fig.3 elegantly illustrates the slotted plate through which drive shaft A projects. The free block D is attached to a pin on crank plate wheel B, revolutions of shaft A thereby producing reciprocating motion to the shuttle carrier.
