Produced by the Kimball & Morton Company of Scotland, this "lion" form was manufactured circa 1870. The basic mechanics are very much those of Singer's "Family" machine, indeed the model was widely advertised as the Lion Singer. The same company also produced a another lion variant during the early 1900s.
